What a great evening that was. Lovely venue – the stage was tiny but it added to the charm of the ballroom, which even boasted a mirrorball (great name for an album…). Very friendly band to support – check out the excellent Pearl Jammer if you get the chance – I was hugely impressed by their attention to detail. Didn’t envy them the journey back to Liverpool that night though! And a good cause to be playing for – raising money for the Wishlist Foundation. We played a cracker of a set, building on the confidence gained from the Flag gig the week before and finding a solid groove to carry us through the 50 minutes we were on stage. I even had a bottle of Newcastle Brown to keep me company.

Baking cakes for the Wishlist Foundation

Becky and I baked a couple of cakes to raise money for the Wishlist Foundation. Becky made her fab hazelnut cake, I made a chocolate orange Guinness cake, and I took them into work yesterday to fuel my cake-addicted colleagues in the Pearson editorial and publishing team.

The cake sale raised £46.20, which we’ll round up to an even £50. Thanks to everyone at work for contributing – hope y’all enjoyed the cakes!

Only one day to go! Tomorrow night  we’ll be supporting the rather fine Pearl Jammer at the Team McCready Fundraiser for the Wishlist Foundation, in the Ballroom at the Cavendish Arms, Stockwell.

I’m sure it’s already in your diaries, but a quick reminder that next Sat 24 March we’re playing the Team McCready Fundraiser for the Wishlist Foundation, at the Ballroom at the Cavendish Arms, Stockwell.

Tickets £5, but bring loads of cash to bid on loads of PJ goodies, including stuff signed by Mike McCready himself. Check out the Fundraiser FB page hyperlinked above.

There’s been a change in the main act since my previous post, and we’ll be supporting Pearl Jammer. Check out their fine covers of Hungerstrike and Alive on Youtube.

Wishlist Foundation gig, Sat 24.03.12

Radio Seattle are thrilled to announce that we’ll be playing at the London leg of this year’s Team McCready Fundraiser for the Wishlist Foundation.

The Wishlist Foundation is a Pearl Jam fan-run, nonprofit, grassroots organisation dedicated to supporting Pearl Jam’s charitable and philanthropic efforts.  http://vimeo.com/7468367

In March 2011, Team McCready held 9 fundraisers in cities round the world, raising $10,000 for Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness.

The gig is at the Ballroom at the Cavendish Arms, Stockwell, on Sat 24 March. We’re supporting the mighty Pearl Jammed, and there’ll be a raffle and an auction during the evening.

Doors 7.30pm and we’re on at 8pm. Tickets £5. We can’t wait!
