Sad news to report. Rick Parashar, the producer for two of the classiest Seattle albums in Ten and Temple of the Dog, passed away of natural causes in August aged only 50.
With his brother Raj, Parashar founded London Bridge Studio in 1985 and worked with many of the Seattle rock bands from the grunge era.
Parashar played various instruments on ‘Black’ and ‘Jeremy’ from Pearl Jam’s first album, Ten, and ‘Call Me a Dog’, ‘All Night Thing’ and ‘Times of Trouble’ from Temple of the Dog; he also produced Alice in Chains debut EP Sap and ‘Would?’, and albums for Blind Melon and Dinosaur Jr. He was particularly respected for his vocal production, appropriately enough considering the quality of vocals on Ten and Temple of the Dog.
Condolences to his family and friends.
